Hello!

I'm Sadi.

I'm a thirty-something year old working, learning, sharing and exploring all things marketing, branding, product and fun.

Here's my journey.

My Story

As a first generation immigrant, my parents would share their stories of coming to Canada over thirty years ago.  Some stories were fun, quirky and comical while others intense, sad and heartbreaking where I could see them reliving the memory of fleeing their home country and coming to a place completely foreign to them. With some of their stories being so wild to me, I had to share them and from there built a knack for story telling. Whether it was around a camp fire with friends or in a basement with cousins to spook them - I enjoyed building a narrative. It excited me to see people lean in as I got closer to the turning point, their eyes opening in intrigue or eyebrows raising in shock when the punch line hits. Good story telling has the ability to draw people in and take their senses for a ride.

Now in my adult years, working in Marketing for over a decade, not much has changed.  A great story with bold copywriting still reels me in. I've been fortunate to work with a few large National and Global brands and I still focus on infusing story telling in my work with the goal of captivating audiences. With multiple social media platforms and what seems like rapid growth in content creators, there is a lot of media available for consumption, but good content will always reign supreme. The medium is also the message, so making sure you're able to effectively communicate using the right channels and creative is the other half of the battle. A good story is one part, but being able to deliver it is key. You know what they say, you don't sell the steak, you sell the sizzle.

When I'm not working in an office, I'm working on me personally. Staying in shape and staying sharp is important to me. Over the last several years, I've prioritized mental and personal health and sought out forms of meditation that helps release any unwanted stress or negativity. I'm energized and grateful that I can spend my time in a gym, outdoors in nature or on a golf course. With the fast pace of the corporate world, taking time for myself has allowed me to grow into a more open person.

Being South Asian, my culture is deep rooted in bold flavours and spices. The GTA is a melting pot of people and cultures I'm fortunate to be able taste various cuisines and connect with people through food.  What better way to delve into cultures and it's people then through colourful spices and beautiful flavours. As I get older, I treasure getting together with friends and family to enjoy meals around a table and sharing stories while our bellies are full of food and laughs. You tend to forget how fast time goes because you get caught up with life and it's routine, but every now and then you've got to slow down and enjoy the journey or else you'll wonder how it all flew by so fast.

With this page I hope to create new opportunities, open doors and meet people. If you've made it this far, I appreciate you reading a little bit about me and I hope we connect to learn more about each other.
